Accurate heading and attitude for robot control and location.
Navigation technology that estimates the location and attitude of a mobile robot is a key for making robots complete a task. This technology allows the robot to map the surrounding and plan a path accordingly.
The Microinfinity R1070 and XG1010 are single axis MEMS gyroscopes that provide accurate heading angle. This information is required to determine the robot's position when moving in a two dimensional plane. Both gyroscopes exhibit the same high performance, the R1070 can be surface mounted as an additional component in the final PCB design, while the XG1010 provides communication interfaces that allows easy communication with a PC.
The Microinfinity R1370, in addition to the high performance gyroscope, includes a three-axis accelerometer that can be used to measure static tilt angles or collisions. The Microinfinity XG1300L provides the same functionality of the R1370 in a convenient packaging with communication interface compatible with the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT.
For more demanding applications such as three-dimensional tracking or moving on rough terrain, the Microinfinity XA3300 can provide stabilized attitude information (roll, pitch and yaw). Higher performance applications such as the needed in unmanned ground vehicles can usethe Marion series GA3390, GA6350, and GA6370.
